Options for reuse and recycling


At Label Yourself, we want to highlight how our products can be used for as long as possible and how their materials can be handled when the products are no longer needed.

Where possible, use the product until it is worn out. Our lanyards are designed for repeated use and can be used until they are worn out. It is therefore worth creating a design that your customers and employees will want to use. The same applies to wristbands. If you do not need to seal the wristbands so that they can only be removed by cutting the band, you can choose a closure that can be opened and closed again. Several museums, for example, have chosen this solution.

CREATIVE USE

Another option is to give the materials from the wristbands a new use through local creative or social projects. For example, the materials can be used to make:

  • Hanging loops inside the neck of sweatshirts or new loops for towels
  • Key rings
  • Tote bags
  • Bags or wallets

 

SORTING USED WRISTBANDS

Once the festival is over, you can sort the materials with a view to recycling. Easylock closures can, in many cases, be fitted to wristbands again if they are not damaged. We are happy to receive used closures and assess whether they can be reused. If you prefer to dispose of the used wristbands and sort the materials yourself, you can follow the steps below:

  • Collect the wristbands at the exit as guests leave the event. Remember the scissors! This makes it easy to cut the wristbands off.
  • Separate the closures from the wristbands and sort the plastic, metal and textiles separately.
  • Follow your local authority’s sorting guidance for textiles, plastic and metal. Sorting options may vary between local authorities, so check how each material should be sorted in your area.

HOW WE HANDLE MATERIALS, PRODUCTION SURPLUS AND TRANSPORT

  • We sell paper wristbands with printing errors to customers who need an inexpensive access-control solution. 
  • When producing our woven name labels, we send surplus material for recycling.
  • We offer a range of products, including rPET wristbands and rPET lanyards, whose textile bands are made from 100 % recycled PET.
  • We offer our customers the option of having their orders transported by sea rather than by air. Sea freight is cheaper but has a longer delivery time, so orders need to be placed earlier.
  • We reuse boxes whenever possible.
